High Tea Bakery offers a wide variety of seasonal classes for all skill levels. Students receive hands on training in the eclectic environment of High Tea Bakery. Learn to decorate seasonal cookies, turn simple cupcakes into works of art, and discover the intricate steps to create the perfect Petit Fours. THE ART OF COOKIE DECORATING: INTRODUCTORY CLASSES

High Tea Bakery offers themed classes throughout the year that introduce students to the basics of cookie decorating. Popular themes include (but are not limited to) Valentine’s Day Cookies, Easter Cookies, Halloween and Christmas. Students will receive hands on training, learning the basics of icing consistency. You will learn to base coat a cookie, then use piping techniques in royal icing to add details and flair. Students will also learn to add fun embellishments like sanding sugars, disco dusts, and fondant cutouts specific to each themed class.

All classes run from 6:30pm-9:30pm and are held at our location at 2103 Portage Ave.

Everything you need will be provided. Just bring your creativity!

Autumn Cookies:

This class will decorate leaves, pumpkins, acorns, sunflower, turkey, wheat, corn cobs and more. Colours and specific designs may vary from photo.

Available Dates: Oct 15th or Oct 16th

HALLOWEEN:

This class will decorate a mix of spooky Halloween shapes including jack-o-lanterns, eyeballs, witches and more. Colours and specific designs may vary from photo.

Available Dates: Oct 23rd or Oct 24th (limited space left) or Oct 29th

Winter wonderland:

This class will decorate winter themed cookies including snowflakes, snowmen, polar bears, toques, mitts, skates & more. Colours and specific designs may vary from photo.

Christmas:

This class will decorate a collection of Christmas themed shapes including Christmas trees, presents, Santa faces, snowmen, reindeer and more. Colours and specific designs may vary from photo.

THE ART OF CUPCAKE DECORATING: CHRISTMAS THEMED CLASSES

Turn simple cupcakes into works of art! You will learn how to use buttercream icing (and learn our recipe!) and fondant to create these festive treats. Piping techniques and special embellishments are taught. All designs in this class will be themed around the Christmas Holiday.

THE ART OF COOKIE DECORATING: ADVANCED CLASSES

High Tea Bakery offers advanced technique classes several times a year, based on the instructor’s availability. Students are expected to have experience with base coating and piping consistencies to take these classes. Class themes from the past have included Wet-in-Wet technique, Bollywood details, and Embroidery/Scrollwork.

PERFECT PETIT FOURS

Learn the intricate steps involved in making this classic teatime treat. Students will fill, prepare & ice their cakes individually. They will then learn how to detail them with using hand piped royal icing and add elegant embellishments like fondant cut-outs and disco dust for effect. Themes include Valentines, Easter and Winter/Christmas.
